Wujiang Road leisure street is no longer what it was

Wujiang Road is the well-known characteristic street centred on characteristic catering and leisure in Shanghai. It used to be a snack street that naturally formed around Shanghai old alley, Shanghai civilian-style, a place where the grass-roots food congregated.

Revisiting Wujiang Road really let me brighten. In front of us is a fresh start Wujiang Road leisure street. The previous sidewalk food stalls are completely invisible, instead of this, China’s local dishes dining hall, European style coffee shop and taproom, Taiwan-style teahouse, H. K-Macau restaurant and dessert shop, and so on are appearing all over the place.

I last saw Wujiang Road snack street nearly two years ago.

Wujiang Road has been completely refurbished after a comprehensive renovation, the color floor tile pavement takes the place of the previous asphalted road.

The former food stalls moved into the viewing platform.

The new leisure street will focus on introducing the high-end delicacies and brand fashion shops, including the top world-renowned brands, such as NIKE,LEVI’S and so on. Wujiang Road leisure street is growing more diverse.

Most of shops along the street have walls inlaid with transparent floor glass, the in-store scene can be seen from the street.

The restaurant is mainly based on Chinese food, and it has aimed to Western-style food.

Coffeehouses, western restaurants, bakeries, and Chinese restaurants are mixed together.

Each shop decoration are all so different.

The famous Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant opens new branches here.

The newly opened Lisboa Restaurant.

This is the restaurant specialising in bird’s nest, abalone and shark’s fin.

The cup pudding is deeply loved by girls.

Yoshinoya offers a mouth-watering variety of Japanese cuisine, including beef rice.

Wujiang Road has become a gathering place for young adults. whether attend the class party, invite colleagues for a meal or accompany own sweetheart to an appointment, many young people enjoy coming here.

Faced with numerous delicious food, let you feel overwhelmed and don’t know what you’re going to do. Don’t worry, please taste Shanghai’s most famous Nanxiang steamed buns first.

Look, Nanxiang Steamed Buns Restaurant is here.

You can see the Nanxiang steamed buns making process through open-style glass windows, if you have the time, you can secretly study their craft.

There are no empty seats in the restaurant during dinner.

I put some shredded ginger on the plates, pour in some vinegar, and sit waiting for Nanxiang steamed buns on the table.

Fried noodle, the traditional foods in Shanghai, it is one of pasta I like.

Shrimp Wonton, Shanghaiese specialty snack, one serving costs RMB 12 and includes 6 dumplings.

Pork chop with garlic, China’s northwest-style cuisine, rich garlic flavor.

Chicken liquid beancurd leaf rolls with minced pork, cooked chicken soup.

Nanxiang steamed buns offers three kinds flavors, and these three flavors of steamed buns are steamed bun stuffed with shrimp, steamed bun stuffed with pork, steamed bun stuffed with crab meat.

Deep-fried dough sticks add just a few green beans and shelled shrimp.

Cold chicken cooked in wine, taste ok.

Mixed with steamed bean curd roll is a cold vegetable dish in sauce that my family often eat.
